Description : About the Role
The Manager IT (Lab & Pharmacy Vertical) will be responsible for leading and managing all IT operations related to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Pharmacy applications, hardware, and IT infrastructure across multiple locations. The role involves ensuring high system availability, seamless integrations, and adherence to IT governance and security standards to support the clinical and operational excellence of Medantas Lab and Pharmacy divisions.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Application Support (LIMS & Pharmacy Systems)
- Provide end-to-end technical and functional support for LIMS and Pharmacy applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Coordinate with application vendors for escalated issues, updates, and version upgrades.
- Validate and test new functionalities or patches prior to deployment.
- Manage lab instrument interfacing with LIMS for automated data capture and reporting.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of recurring issues, fixes, and release notes.
2. Hardware & Infrastructure Management
Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware including PCs, printers, barcode scanners, and networking equipment.Ensure reliable connectivity and system uptime across all lab and pharmacy locations.Plan and execute IT infrastructure readiness for new lab or pharmacy facility rollouts.Maintain IT asset inventory, tagging, and audit compliance in alignment with organizational standards.3. Daily Operations & Support Management
Manage day-to-day IT support requests from lab and pharmacy teams.Prioritize service tickets, assign to engineers, and ensure SLA-based resolution.Track unresolved issues and coordinate escalations to relevant internal or external teams.Monitor and report on key performance metrics including system uptime, response time, and incident trends.4. Vendor & Procurement Coordination
Manage vendor relationships for AMC, procurement, and hardware / software maintenance.Review and process IT-related invoices, SAP service entries, and warranty renewals.Collaborate with procurement for sourcing IT equipment, licenses, and networking materials.Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and ensure adherence to service standards.5. Governance, Compliance & Reporting
Develop and maintain SOPs, compliance documentation, and IT operation manuals.Support internal and external IT audits; ensure timely closure of audit findings.Maintain documentation for change management, version control, and access management.Generate and present weekly / monthly IT performance dashboards and reports for leadership review.6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination
Supervise a team of IT support engineers responsible for lab and pharmacy sites.Conduct periodic training, mentoring, and skill development sessions for IT staff.Collaborate closely with Operations, HR, Finance, and Biomedical Engineering teams to ensure seamless cross-functional support.Drive productivity, performance management, and adherence to IT service management best practices (ITIL framework preferred).Required Skills & Competencies :
Strong expertise in LIMS / Pharmacy Application Management and healthcare workflows.Sound understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware troubleshooting, and networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).Experience in SAP service entries and IT procurement processes.Familiarity with IT governance frameworks, asset management, and SLA-driven service delivery.Excellent analytical, communication, and vendor management skills.Ability to lead cross-functional teams and handle multi-site operations effectively.Qualifications & Experience :
Education : B.Tech / BCA / MCA / M.Sc (IT or Computer Science) or equivalent.
Experience : 10 - 12 years of IT operations experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Domain Preference : Experience in Healthcare, Diagnostics, or Hospital IT systems is strongly preferred.
