The impact you will have in this role :
The Database Operations team is responsible for managing DTCCs public and private cloud databases. You and your team will engage with the infrastructure and application development teams to ensure DTCCs databases are highly available, performant, secure, and resilient.
Your Primary Responsibilities :
Lead a DB Ops team to ensure the 24 / 7 availability, performance, and reliability of database systems.Effectively manage incidents and lead problem resolution.Implement continuous improvements for monitoring, alerting, and health check reports.Overseeing database operations such as backup and recovery, security compliance, and strategic planning for disaster recovery and performance optimization.Lead DB Support teams to align with DTCC’s modernization efforts.Create a mature distributed database support team (i.e. Oracle, Aurora PostgreSQL) that is attuned to the customer’s needs by promoting self-service capabilities.Encourage & lead automation initiatives for public and private cloud databases.Strong people leadership to empower, encourage, and engage.NOTE : The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above.Qualifications :
Minimum of 10 years of related experience of database engineering, delivery, and support.Bachelor’s degree and / or equivalent experienceTalents Needed for Success :
Ability to work across teams to create partnerships that achieve organization goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture.Ability to technically lead the DB Operations team along with providing transparency and insight that can be consumed by business teams.Deep technical understanding of OLTP databases such as Oracle and MS SQL.Proven understanding of AWS cloud database technologies (Oracle RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL).Passionate about building a strong team to support the organization’s goal for modernization.Solid understanding of automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle management & the Agile methodology.Management skills to maintain IT infrastructure health and drive customer satisfaction.Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
