About the Role
Sun Mobility seeks a Battery Innovation Engineer to drive cutting-edge battery technology initiatives within our Chairman's Office. This role focuses on developing innovative solutions across battery lifecycle management including recycling, second-life applications, advanced battery management systems, and thermal management technologies that will shape the future of sustainable mobility.
Key Responsibilities
Battery Technology Innovation
- Execute innovative R&D projects focused on next-generation battery technologies and applications
- Lead battery recycling research and development projects to optimize material recovery and circular economy initiatives
- Design and implement second-life battery applications for stationary energy storage and grid integration
- Conduct battery testing protocols and performance validation across various operating conditions
Research & Development
Develop proof-of-concept prototypes for new battery technologies and system integrationsResearch and analyse emerging battery chemistries and their potential applications in mobility solutionsSupport intellectual property development through patent research and technical documentationOptimize battery pack design for 2nd life vehicle and stationary applicationsConduct lifecycle assessments of battery systems from manufacturing to end-of-life managementPrepare technical reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholdersRequired Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field1–3 years experience in battery technology, energy storage systems, or automotive engineeringExperience with battery testing, BMS development, or thermal management systems preferredEV / Energy storage industry exposure preferredTechnical Expertise
Battery technology fundamentals including lithium-ion, solid-state, and emerging chemistriesThermal management systems including cooling strategies, heat exchangers, and HVAC designTesting equipment operation (battery analyzers, thermal chambers, oscilloscopes)Simulation software experience (MATLAB / Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar)CAD software proficiency for mechanical design and system integrationData analysis skills using Python, MATLAB, or similar toolsCore Competencies
