The Power Electronics Senior Hardware Engineer is responsible for design, testing, validation and ensuring compliance with industry standards for the power supplies. Passionate to work / learn on any aspect in engineering and focus on developing reliable, cost-effective power conversion solutions. Flexible to work in electronic circuits, power circuits, magnetics design, design improvements, mechanical design tools, testing for compliance, Test automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development : Develop and optimize AC / DC and DC / DC converter circuits (SMPS topologies such as flyback, boost, buck, full-bridge) from concept through prototype. Generate schematics, select components (power MOSFETs, IGBTs, gate drivers, magnetics), perform design calculations and design PCBs for power supplies. Ensure designing of new product / model meeting specification, cost & schedule.
- Testing and Compliance : Formulate test plans and perform functional, thermal, reliability, and environmental tests on power supplies. Ensure all designs meet safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMI / EMC) standards (e.g., IEC, UL / CE). Optimize hardware designs for manufacturability, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Manufacturing support : Work with mechanical, quality, and manufacturing teams to support pilot runs and production. Apply design-for-manufacturability (DFM) practices and coordinate with vendors for component sourcing and assembly. Implement engineering changes and continuous improvements in existing designs.
- Simulation and Prototyping : Use circuit simulation tools (PSpice, MATLAB / Simulink) to validate designs. Build prototype boards, perform bench testing with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and other lab equipment, and iterate designs based on test results.
- Analysis / Documentation : Create detailed design documentation including electrical schematics, BOMs, block diagrams, component selection, Loss analysis, WCA and test reports. Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to refine designs.
