Role Details
St Columba's Memorial School is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Officer to join our team.
Under the moderate direction of the Principal, the Finance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the school's business and financial activities, including :
- Managing the school's budget and preparing financial reports to support planning and decision-making.
- Overseeing payroll processing, employee leave entitlements, and applying Enterprise Agreement provisions.
- Essential experience in payroll processing and employee entitlements management is required for this position.
- Administering the school's fee billing, collection, and reconciliation processes.
- Processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, BAS and GST, and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems is required for managing financial transactions and reporting.
- Coordinating with the CESA Finance Team, School Board Finance Committee, and external stakeholders.
- Supporting compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and relevant policies.
- Preparing end of year financial statements and assisting with audit processes.
- Actively participating in school events, meetings, and contributing to the life of our community.
To be considered for this role you will have :
Experience in a management or financial accounting role including payroll, accounts, budgeting, GST, financial analysis, future planning & development, capital works / facilities management;Appropriate qualifications in accounting and financial management;Strong numeracy skills and analytical ability;Ability to meet deadlines and resolve complex issues;Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully communicate and liaise with people and groups at all levels, both internal and external to the school;Excellent organisation and communication skills;Undertaken approved Mandatory Notification training and (DCSI) screening clearance to work with children;Ability to demonstrate practical support for the Catholic ethos of the school;an understanding of and commitment to WH&S requirements.Are you following us on LinkedIn & Facebook?
