Role Details

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available at St Margaret Mary’s School and Preschool for an experienced Finance Officer with a strong community focus to join our team.  The role is responsible for working collaboratively with the Principal (or delegate) and other school leaders to manage the operational support and financial functions of the school.  The position provides day-to-day oversight of the finance, administration, grounds & maintenance and some ICT functions.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity for a comprehensive handover (4 weeks) commencing on 19th  January 2026.

Duties include, but are not limited to :

• Provide financial advice, reports, and planning support to school leadership.
• Lead financial systems, budgets and compliance processes.
• Manage and lead accounts payable / receivable, reconciliations, BAS, GST and FBT returns.
• Manage payroll functions, salary packaging, and entitlements.
• Prepare annual financial statements and support external audits.
• Administer school fees, payment plans, and debt collection.
• Support government funding submissions and grant administration.
• Oversee the maintenance of buildings, grounds and facilities.
