What we're looking for
We're seeking a seasoned Deputy General Manager - Piping, who will serve as the Head of Department (HOD) for Piping. You'll be fully responsible for the design and engineering execution of the piping section across our domestic and international FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detailed Engineering projects. This pivotal role requires strong leadership to manage and develop our in-house team, oversee subcontracted work, and ensure optimal layouts, material use, and the integration of best HSE practices for Green Hydrogen plants.
Key Result Areas :
- Manage day-to-day operations, short and long-term objectives of the JCH2 Piping department.
- Further develop and strengthen the Piping department to meet JCH2 business objectives.
- Manage a team of in-house engineers comprising Materials, Layout, Stress analysis, and CAD designers to deliver the piping engineering for JCH2 projects.
- Manage Piping engineering works subcontracted to third-party engineering agencies as and when required.
- Optimize layouts and materials to reduce CAPEX (Capital Expenditure).
- Integrate Best HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Practices into the Piping design of Green Hydrogen plants and associated facilities.
Key Responsibilities :
The HOD (Piping) will be responsible for the delivery of the following :
Write Piping design basis .Prepare equipment layout, piping layout , and conduct study and analysis of client plot plan.Prepare GADs (General Arrangement Drawings), Isometrics , etc.Prepare Nozzle orientation, Pipe support , etc.Generate MTO (Material Take-Off) / BOM (Bill of Materials) .Prepare scope matrix and MR / TPS (Material Requisition / Technical Purchase Specification) for piping design activities outsourced to engineering subcontractors.Perform Stress (Piping Flexibility) analysis with Caesar II etc.Review Client project design basis, applicable codes and standards, and local regulations, incorporating them into the JCH2 piping design basis.Review Client stress and support design basis, 3D-design basis etc.Incorporate JCH2 and client HSE requirements into the JCH2 pipe design basis.Follow up and verification of engineering, documentation, and / or drawings.Participate in client, PMC (Project Management Consultant), Engineering sub-contractor, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholder meetings.Participate in in-house project review meetings.3D Model Expertise :
Possess thorough knowledge of 3D modeling processes, tools, and procedures.Guide the modelers for the preparation of 3D models of Green Hydrogen plants.Lead the review of 3D models to ensure compliance with the following :Clients' / Project specifications.Maintenance and accessibility of all Mechanical equipment (Rotary, Static, Packages), Instruments, piping, and electricals.Model review comments from PMC / Client etc.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering .Experience : At least 20 years of experience in the EPC, oil & gas sector (ideally also in hydrogen).Good experience in working on SP3D, E3D / PDMS, Plant 3D software and AutoCAD .Fluent in English .Interested in development projects.Master the office suite, especially Excel .Good knowledge and experience in piping layout and process skid piping.Good knowledge of OISD and local Indian regulations, viz., PESO , etc.Good knowledge of ASME, DIN, ISO 9000, ISO 14000 , and other national and international codes relevant to the above Job Description.Background, Skills, and Competencies :
Mechanical / Chemical Engineer with design and engineering experience in oil & gas / Energy / Green Hydrogen sectors .Minimum experience of 15-20 years as HOD Piping or Lead Piping engineer with leading and reputed Engineering / EPC companies operating in oil & gas, energy, renewable energy sectors. Exposure and experience of Green Hydrogen projects is a plus.Skills Required
