What you'll do :
You'll be responsible for the design and engineering of piping systems within our industrial projects. Your work will ensure that our strip processing lines and cold rolling mills are built to the highest standards, meeting quality, delivery, and cost targets.
Job Purpose :
- Plan and deliver piping engineering for strip processing lines & cold rolling mills that enable operational excellence and support the growth objectives of the organization.
Key Result Areas :
Development of piping layout of the line as per project requirement.Timely Drawings & Bill of Material (BOM) release.Meeting targets around Quality, Delivery, and Cost.Continuous improvement in working processes.Key Responsibilities :
Understand the contract requirements and develop basic and detailed design for the interconnecting piping.Prepare RFQ (Request for Quotation) documents for piping engineering.Understand the inputs (2D layout, 3D Model, P&ID, PFD, Piping Material Specifications, etc.).Select appropriate piping materials, fittings, valves, and other components based on project requirements, codes, and standards.Create detailed piping layouts, 3D models, and engineering drawings using specialized software like AutoCAD 2D, Plant 3D , etc.Review for clash detection & interference .Prepare piping specifications, datasheets, isometric drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs) .Work in a team with group leaders, Engineers, and Designers within Engineering and other functions.Understand the process requirements, define the instruments needed for the process, and develop the process instrumentation diagram.Coordinate piping engineering activities across internal teams and external service providers.Communicate with customers and participate in technical discussions with customers.Required Skills & Qualifications :
The candidate should be BE / B.TECH or Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a reputed college.6 to 10 years of Experience in piping design related to steel processing or related to Mechanical equipment (material handling, heavy engineering)Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor & Plant 3D .Should have worked in Product Data Management Tools (like Vault) .Able to create libraries considering different piping standards in AutoCAD Plant 3D , to have correct item description, material code, weight, etc., in BOM.Ability to visualize possible clashes & interference during model preparation.Should have worked on P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) and have knowledge of instruments used in process lines.Thorough knowledge of drawings, drafting standards, and engineering standards.Knowledge of IS, ASTM, DIN piping and other standards .Good Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.Ability to work in an agile environment.Skills Required
