Key Responsibilities
1. Network Architecture & Design
Define and own the technical architecture for core, aggregation, and access networks (IP / MPLS, GPON, FTTH, SD-WAN and wireless backhaul).
Develop scalable, redundant, and modular network designs to support rapid customer and traffic growth.
Architect multi-gigabit broadband infrastructure ensuring low latency, high throughput, and minimal packet loss.
Lead technology evaluation, PoC, and design approval for new platforms and vendors.
2. Capacity Planning & Performance Engineering
Forecast network growth and plan capacity augmentation at backbone, peering, and edge layers.
Optimize routing, traffic engineering, and peering to enhance efficiency and reduce transit costs.
Conduct deep-dive performance analysis and introduce automation for proactive capacity management.
Define network KPIs and ensure real-time visibility via advanced monitoring and analytics systems.
3. Innovation & Technology Roadmap
Drive adoption of emerging technologies such as SDN / NFV, IPv6, Wi-Fi 6, AI-driven analytics, and zero-touch provisioning.
Lead R&D on future broadband architectures — multi-access edge computing (MEC), hybrid fiber-wireless, etc.
Evaluate and integrate cloud-native network functions (CNFs) and microservices-based control systems.
4. Network Security & Reliability
Establish robust network security frameworks covering DDoS protection, route filtering, and threat monitoring.
Design failover and redundancy mechanisms ensuring 99.99% uptime.
Guide NOC in fault detection, proactive monitoring (SNMP, NMS, TWAMP / RPM), and root-cause analysis.
Ensure compliance with DOT, TRAI, and cybersecurity standards.
5. Collaboration & Governance
Work closely with the Operations, Backhaul, and Service Delivery teams for seamless implementation of network changes.
Provide Tier-4 escalation support for critical issues.
Establish network documentation, standards, and configuration baselines across regions.
Mentor and build a technically strong team of network architects and senior engineers.
