The Role

As a Mainframe Storage System Programmer SME at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Skills and Experience

7+ Years of Experience in Mainframe Storage Administration

Storage box data migration (DASD to DASD and Tape to tape) and Storage replication

Analyze and research options for collaborates with exiting external systems

Root Cause Analysis preparation and meeting Service level agreement for submission

Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup / restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required

Initialize / add new DASD volumes and Add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress / Reclaim / Release / Cleaning of datasets

Manage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines along with reorganization of storage dataset (RMM / HSM CDS & Catalog file)

Disaster recovery planning and performing the recovery test (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication) and Managing the Copy services / GDPS

Problem determination and resolution within expected time frame

Assume personal responsibility for resolving problems in most effective way possible within SLA reaching root cause and preventing problems

Lead daily Operations meetings provided there are no P1 incidents running Aid with identifying problem management trends

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

SME for MF Storage administration problem determination

Technical guidance to the team

Experience supporting high availability infrastructure operations and implementing / improving disaster recovery

Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements to meet the organization's needs

Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills

Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to Storage
