Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our end-to-end Database Delivery team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of total IT experience, with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in Oracle database implementation and support.
This role is crucial for ensuring the security, performance, and optimization of our enterprise-wide database systems.
You will work in a collaborative environment, providing technical expertise and support for a variety of Oracle versions while also working closely with Application Development, Infrastructure Engineering, and Operations Support teams.
Key Responsibilities Administration & Support :
- Provide technical support for and resolve issues related to Oracle databases ranging from version 11g to 19c (CDB / PDB and Standalone) on Linux / AIX Operating Systems.
- Handle daily operations and maintenance tasks, including database backup, recovery (RMAN), archiving, and basic performance tuning (AWR, ADDM).
Security & Compliance :
Maintain and administer data infrastructure security policies by managing roles and privileges.You will be responsible for evaluating existing security procedures and identifying new areas of risk to safeguard enterprise information.Performance & Optimization :
Utilize basic database analytical skills to improve application performance.This includes hands-on experience with tools like AWR, ADDM, and SQLTRPT to tune database configurations.Data Management :
Manage database elements, including the creation, alteration, and deletion of schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.You will also perform data replication and management tasks.Collaboration & Communication :
Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver and support secured and optimized database solutions.Communicate technical and functional issues clearly to stakeholders and provide & Tools :Identify and resolve problems using structured tools and techniques.You should have working knowledge of a ticketing system like ServiceNow, and be familiar with key Oracle utilities such as SQLPLUS, RMAN, OEM, and Data Pump.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Education : A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience : 3+ years of total IT experience, with 2+ years of relevant experience in Oracle database administration.
Technical Skills :
2+ years of experience with application database implementation.Hands-on experience with Oracle versions 11g to 19c.Expertise in Unix and Linux operating systems.Knowledge of Oracle utilities like RMAN, OEM, and Data Pump.Experience with backup and recovery methods (Data Pump, RMAN).Hands-on experience with performance tuning using AWR, ADDM, and SQLTRPT.Experience in Data Guard configuration for disaster recovery.Experience with database switchover and failover procedures.Basic experience with automation tools and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible).Experience with monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Elastic.Work Environment :
The ability to work in a 24 / 7 rotational shift to support production, development, and test databases.Preferred Skills :
Limited experience with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication.Experience with cloud computing platforms like Azure or OCI.Understanding of modern IT infrastructure such as Cloud Architecture and Agile DevOps Framework.Experience with geographically distributed and culturally diverse teams(ref : hirist.tech)
