Job Description -

We are looking for skilled ITOM Discovery / Event Management Consultants to enhance our IT Operations Management capabilities. The ideal candidates will specialize in implementing and optimizing automated discovery and event management processes, ensuring accurate infrastructure visibility, proactive incident response, and seamless integration with CMDB and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, configure, and deploy ITOM Discovery to build and maintain an accurate and dynamic CMDB.

Implement and fine-tune Event Management for automated event ingestion, correlation, deduplication, and prioritization.

Integrate discovery and event tools with third-party systems (e.G., monitoring tools, CMDBs, cloud platforms).

Work with infrastructure and application teams to ensure appropriate coverage and accuracy of discovered CI data.

Create and maintain discovery schedules, credentials, and probes / sensors.

Define event rules, alert management policies, and thresholds to ensure efficient event processing.

Develop dashboards and reports for visibility into discovered infrastructure and event health.

Troubleshoot and resolve discovery gaps, classification issues, and event noise.

Collaborate with ServiceNow / ITSM teams to ensure alignment with Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes.

Contribute to ITOM roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of hands-on experience in ITOM Discovery and Event Management.

Strong experience with ServiceNow ITOM or similar platforms (BMC Helix, Micro Focus OpsBridge, etc.).

In-depth understanding of infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud) and how they are modeled in CMDB.

Familiarity with common monitoring tools : SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios, SCOM, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.

Knowledge of protocols and technologies such as SNMP, WMI, SSH, API integrations, MID Servers.

Strong scripting skills (e.G., JavaScript, PowerShell, Shell scripting) for automation and troubleshooting.

Experience with event correlation rules, alert aggregation, and impact modeling.

Preferred Qualifications :

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM or Discovery / Event Management.

ITIL Foundation Certification (v3 or v4).

Experience with cloud infrastructure discovery (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with CMDB data normalization, reconciliation, and lifecycle management.

Exposure to AI Ops or machine learning-driven event management platforms is a plus.
