Role : Assistant Manager – BI & Data Analysis

About the Role :
Lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise BI solutions that power decision-making across functions. You’ll own semantic models, data pipelines, and Power BI ecosystems end-to-end—partnering with business stakeholders, mentoring developers, and driving automation, performance, and trust in data. The ideal candidate blends hands-on technical depth with strong communication, a growth mindset, and readiness to take on new challenges.
Responsibilities :
Minimum : 9+ years in BI, data analytics, or data engineering roles with significant hands-on delivery.
Qualifications : Power BI expertise
Data modeling (star / snowflake), DAX, measures, calculation groups, hierarchies, relationships.
Performance tuning (VertiPaq optimization, aggregations, composite models, DirectQuery, incremental refresh).
Dataset and report development, deployment pipelines, workspace / admin tasks, gateways, monitoring.
Security : Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS).
SQL and database skills
Advanced TSQL; writing and optimizing complex queries, views, stored procedures, and indexes.
Hands-on with SQL Server using SSMS; query tuning and indexing strategies.
Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly SQL DW) and Azure SQL Database.
Azure Databricks (SQL / PySpark), Delta Lake, notebooks, Jobs, cluster management, performance optimization.
Best practices for Lakehouse architecture and Unity Catalog (governance).
Power Platform (Good to have)
Power Apps (canvas / model-driven) to capture operational data and extend BI workflows.
Power Automate for approvals, alerting, and orchestration; integration with Power BI and ADF.
AI and advanced analytics (Good to have)
Applying forecasting, anomaly detection, NLP, and segmentation in BI solutions.
Integrating models from Azure Machine Learning / Cognitive Services; monitoring and retraining workflows.
Leveraging AI features in Power BI and the Power Platform to accelerate development and insights.
Collaboration and communication
Strong stakeholder management, requirements gathering, documentation, and user enablement.
Ability to work independently and lead / mentor a team of developers.
