e are seeking a detailoriented and proactive Mainframe Test Engineer to ensure the quality performance and reliability of Mainframe applications The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical testing expertise working with crossfunctional teams to identify debug and resolve system issues while ensuring adherence to business and technical requirements

Key Responsibilities

Design develop and execute test plans test cases and scripts for Mainframe applications

Perform functional integration system and regression testing for Mainframe systems

Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to identify test conditions

Validate Mainframe jobs eg JCL batch processes and online transactions

Verify database operations eg DB2 IMS DB VSAM during testing cycles

Collaborate with developers and analysts to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the testing phase

Use tools like AbendAID FileAID or Xpeditor to simulate debug and verify Mainframe application behavior

Automate Mainframe test cases where applicable using tools like REXX or specialized Mainframe testing tools

Document test results track defects and provide regular test status reports

Ensure compliance with QA standards guidelines and methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle SDLC
