Job Title Deputy General Manager / General Manager - Engineering

Job Location : Ahmedabad

Experience Required : 8– 15 years of relevant work experience

Knowledge & Skills :

▪ Strong understanding of Design & Engineering of Solar PV Projects.

▪ Hands on Experience of PV Syst, AutoCad & StadPro.

▪ Lead IDT & Power Transformer Design reviews.

▪ Lead & close MDL with EPC contractors or Engg Consultants.

▪ Understanding of renewable power evacuation systems (substations, transmission lines).

▪ Familiarity with SCADA systems, grid integration, and energy storage solutions.

▪ Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on optimization.

▪ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Job Purpose :

The Head – Engineering will lead the engineering function for the company’s solar PV portfolio, overseeing complete project design and engineering — from feasibility to commissioning. The role will ensure that all designs are optimized for cost, performance, reliability, and compliance with regulatory and technical standards. The position requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and experience in driving engineering excellence across multiple utility-scale solar projects.

Job Description

1. Design & Engineering Leadership - Lead all aspects of engineering design (basic, detailed, and execution) for utility scale solar PV plants.

• Develop and standardize design templates, technical specifications, and engineering guidelines.
• Oversee preparation and review of key engineering deliverables — layouts, SLDs, string designs, earthing layouts, cable schedules, control logic, SCADA architecture, etc.
• Ensure optimal plant design for maximum generation and minimum LCOE.

2. Technical Evaluation & Due Diligence - Lead technical due diligence for new project acquisitions and greenfield developments.

3. Vendor & Contractor Management - Define technical specifications for EPC, equipment, and service contracts.

4. Team Leadership - Build and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team (electrical, civil, mechanical, instrumentation).
