Quality Specialist

Role Purpose :

To lead the Plant Quality function for Truck / Bus manufacturing with responsibility for Shop Quality, Incoming Quality, and Field Quality. Ensure adherence to IMS standards, improve vendor quality, monitor COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality), and drive continuous improvement for zero-defect manufacturing and customer satisfaction.

Job Authority

Authority over all quality processes at the plant – shopfloor, incoming inspection, and field quality.

Responsible for vendor audits, ratings, and supplier quality performance.

Sign-off authority on quality standards, COPQ action plans, and compliance with IMS.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee quality control for final assembly of trucks and buses ensuring adherence to OEM standards.

Lead Shop Quality, Incoming Quality, and Field Quality teams for end-to-end quality management.

Implement and maintain Integrated Management System (IMS) across all plant processes.

Monitor COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and implement reduction initiatives.

Develop and execute vendor rating systems and supplier quality improvement plans.

Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for internal and field failures.

Coordinate with Production, R&D, and Service to provide feedback for design and process improvements.

Prepare and review quality MIS reports, Q-Gates, and dashboard for management.

Ensure compliance with ISO, TS, and other quality standards during audits.

Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and zero-defect manufacturing.
