Role Details
Are you passionate about preparing nutritious snacks and meals for children in a warm, community-focused environment? We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for :
- Planning, preparing, and cooking meals and snacks for children aged 5-12, following established recipes and nutritional guidelines.
- Catering to children with specific dietary needs, allergies, and food preferences, ensuring all meals are safe and suitable.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, organised and sanitary kitchen environment, operating kitchen equipment, adhering to food safety standards and procedures.
- Monitoring stock levels, placing orders for supplies, and receiving deliveries.
- Working with educators and families to gather information about children's dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensuring food quality and presentation meet standards, and that portion sizes are appropriate.
- Assisting with menu planning, taking into account nutritional guidelines and children's preferences.
- Supporting a positive, welcoming atmosphere during our busy afternoon sessions.
We’re Looking For Someone Who :
Enjoys working with children in a care setting.Has experience in food preparation, cooking or kitchen work.Can follow nutritional guidelines and manage dietary needs.Holds (or is willing to obtain) a Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate.Works well in a team, with reliability and a friendly attitude.What We Offer :
