Position Overview
The Head of Site HR will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Human Resources function at the SEZ Plant Ahmedabad. The role is responsible for designing and executing people strategies that enable business performance, operational excellence, and employee well-being. This includes talent acquisition, capability building, employee relations, statutory compliance, performance management, engagement, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. The position partners closely with plant leadership while ensuring alignment with global HR frameworks and corporate priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Plant Head and leadership team, enabling workforce effectiveness and organizational agility.
- Translate corporate and global HR strategies into site-level initiatives tailored for SEZ operations.
- Lead culture transformation, change management, and digital HR adoption to build a future-ready workforce.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Drive end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.Ensure alignment of workforce strategies with production demands, growth plans, and SEZ operational requirements.Develop critical talent pipelines, strengthen succession planning, and manage retention effectively.Employee Relations & Compliance
Build and maintain positive industrial relations, proactively managing grievances and fostering trust.Ensure 100% compliance with SEZ-specific regulations, labor laws, and statutory requirements.Represent the organization with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and SEZ officials during audits and inspections.Performance Management & Capability Development
Implement performance management processes that drive accountability and growth.Identify skill gaps and lead learning & development programs that build technical and leadership capabilities.Support continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and structured development interventions.Employee Engagement & Culture Building
Design and deliver engagement initiatives that enhance morale, inclusivity, and productivity.Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices aligned with global frameworks.Lead site-level communication forums, employee welfare programs, and CSR activities.HR Operations & Analytics
Oversee HR systems (HRMIS, attendance, payroll coordination) ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Provide data-driven insights through HR dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to support decision-making.Manage disciplinary actions, exits, and HR audits with fairness, transparency, and governance.Key Competencies
Strong leadership presence and ability to influence stakeholders across levels.Expertise in industrial relations, compliance, and labor law.Strategic mindset with operational execution excellence.Skilled in conflict resolution, crisis management, and workforce engagement.Experience with HR digital tools and ERP systems (SAP SuccessFactors preferred).Educational Qualifications
MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institute.Certifications in labor law, compliance, organizational development, or change management preferred.Preferred Background
15+ years of HR experience with at least 7–8 years in senior plant / site HR leadership roles.Exposure to pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing industries .Proven track record of managing HR in unionized and multi-shift environments.Experience working within global HR frameworks and matrix organizations .Skills Required
