Key Job Summary :
Responsible The Planning & Project Management Engineer / Manager will be responsible for end-to-end project planning, monitoring, and control of multi-disciplinary design projects. This includes preparation & managing project schedules, deliverables, tracking of progress, develop & maintain resource loaded project schedules using primavera. budgets, risks, and coordination among internal design teams and external stakeholders (clients, vendors, and contractors). Educational Qualification :
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation / Project Management- Preferably NICMAR.
- PMP / PRINCE2 / Primavera certification preferred.
- Experience in Engineering Consultancy / EPCM / EPC design offices .
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & SchedulingDevelop, monitor, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project . Schedule time analysis, constraints, available work fronts, resources, KPIs, "S" curve, resource histogram etc.Prepare design delivery schedules , milestone charts, and resource allocation plans.Define project work breakdown structure (WBS) and align with departmental deliverables.Coordinate input from engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, etc.).Project Management & CoordinationAct as the single point of contact for project planning, progress reporting, and risk management.Ensure timely submission of drawings, design reports, and documents as per project schedule.Facilitate design review meetings and progress review sessions with internal teams and clients. Identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actionsTrack progress against schedules such as weekly, Monthly progress reports and dashboards, Critical path report, Area of concern, look-ahead plan and S-curve.Commercial & ContractualSupport proposal and tendering teams in preparing project schedules, man-hour estimates, and deliverable plans.Assist in change management, variation claims, and extension of time (EOT) Claim schedule analysis, Delay analysis of subcritical & critical activities.Monitor project budgets and control engineering man-hours utilization.Quality & Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to project quality and documentation standards.Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.Coordinate with QA / QC teams for compliance with ISO and internal design procedures.Client & Stakeholder ManagementInterface with clients for schedule reviews, deliverable updates, and milestone approvals.Manage external interfaces with vendors, sub-consultants, and contractors as applicable.Key Skills Required :
Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 , MS Project , and Excel-based planning tools.Understanding of engineering design workflows in consulting environment (e.g., Drawing control, design review cycles).Familiarity with EPC project lifecycle — from concept to detailed design and construction.Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.Strong analytical and reporting abilities.Knowledge on project costing in various project environment ( Both Capex and Opex)Attention to detail and quality focus. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Candidate shall be willing to work at customer sites (within India or abroad) on deputation based on project requirementsTypical Project Types : Power Substations (AIS / GIS), Transmission LinesData Centers, Industrial PlantsThermal Power Plants / Hydro Electric / Renewable – Solar Electric Power Projects
