Job Description
Your Role :
As an Associate Manager I on the Engineering Platforms team, you will lead a group of engineers that develop and support of enterprise-grade services and internal developer platforms. You will also participate in limited capacity on an agile team to improve CI / CD pipelines, support platform integrations, and enhance developer experience through modern tools and frameworks. This role is ideal for someone who have had at least 10 years of experience in development and a passion for building scalable, reusable, and secure engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise services using Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Contribute to the evolution of the internal developer platform, focusing on usability, automation, and self-service capabilities.
- Demonstrates technical leadership and maturity in driving engineering initiatives, making informed decisions, and setting a high bar for execution excellence across teams.
- Leads by example in applying best practices, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Possesses the ability to influence architectural direction and platform strategy through deep expertise and thoughtful collaboration.
- Comfortable taking ownership of complex problems and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions that align with enterprise goals. Balances innovation with discipline, ensuring foundational work is completed with rigor while remaining open to exploring new and exciting technologies.
- Enhance CI / CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices using tools such as Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and SonarQube.
- Support and integrate platforms including :
- Artifactory for artifact management
- Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for collaboration and tracking
- SonarQube for code quality
- API Management platforms (i.e. Anypoint. Apigee, Boomi, Kong)
- Power Platform for low-code / no-code solutions
- GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and support teams across a global organization.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
- Advocate for reusable patterns and enterprise architecture maturity.
- Engage in hands-on development, including peer programming and code reviews.
- Support the services you create and champion automation and self-service engineering practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and perform related duties to ensure platform stability and timely issue resolution.
- Facilitate regular 1 : 1s and team check-ins to foster career growth, engagement, and feedback.
- Collaborate with leaders and technical leads to align team goals with organizational objectives.
Work Experience / Knowledge
At least 10+ years of professional software development experience.At least 2+ years of leading teams (directly or indirectly) while advocating positive career progressions.Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.Expert understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).Strong proficiency working in agile development teams.Strong proficiency developing with CI / CD tools and practices.Expert in microservices architecture and cloud-native development.Preferred Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required
