Role Objective :
Support the design and development of rolling element bearings (TRB, CRB, BB, SRB) for industrial and automotive applications. Ensure design accuracy, technical compliance, and timely execution of new product development projects.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Product Design & Development
- Prepare detailed 2D / 3D designs of bearings based on customer and application requirements.
- Perform basic bearing calculations (load, life, and speed ratings).
- Select suitable materials, tolerances, and fits for bearing components.
- Work with CAD and simulation tools (Solid Edge / SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD).
2. Product Validation
Support prototype development and coordinate with testing teams for validation activities.Review and interpret simulation and FEA results to improve product performance.3. Customer & Cross-Functional Support
Assist senior engineers in technical discussions with OEM customers.Participate in APQP, DFMEA, and design review meetings.Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams for DFM / A and cost optimization.4. Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and update drawings, BOMs, and design reports.Ensure adherence to design standards (ISO, DIN, JIS, AFBMA).Maintain design records in line with IATF 16949 requirements.5. Continuous Improvement
Support VA / VE projects and cost reduction initiatives.Suggest improvements in design methods, materials, or processes.Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and bearing technology.Proficiency in CAD tools (Solid Edge, Creo, or SolidWorks).Basic knowledge of FEA, bearing life calculation, and metallurgy.Understanding of APQP, FMEA, and PPAP documentation.Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.Preferred Profile :
Qualification : B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.Experience : 3–7 years in product design & development of bearings or precision components.Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and drawing release.Knowledge of DFM / A and cross-functional collaboration.Experience in bearing design or automotive component design preferred.Education
Diploma, Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), Bachelor Of Technology (B.Tech / B.E), PG Diploma, Masters in Technology (M.Tech / M.E), Master of Design (M.Des.)
