About the Role

We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our dynamic Human Resources team at The New Indian Express Group . This role is ideal for freshers and early-career professionals who are passionate about people, processes, and creating a positive workplace culture.

The HR Coordinator will support end-to-end HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, employee engagement, and HR operations, ensuring seamless implementation of HR policies and practices across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in full-cycle recruitment for editorial, digital, sales, and support functions.
  • Coordinate job postings, shortlist candidates, schedule interviews, and maintain candidate databases.
  • Conduct reference checks and support onboarding and induction programs for new hires.
  • Build and maintain recruitment trackers and reports.

Payroll & Salary Process

  • Assist in monthly payroll preparation.
  • Maintain attendance, leave, and timesheet records.
  • Ensure accurate salary inputs, deductions, and reimbursements.
  • Support in handling employee queries related to pay, tax, and benefits.

    • HR Operations & Administration

  • Maintain employee records, HRMS data, and personnel files.
  • Assist in preparation of HR letters (offer, confirmation, relieving, etc.).
  • Support statutory compliance activities and HR audits.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for employee-related documentation and approvals.

    • Employee Engagement & Welfare

  • Support in planning and organizing internal communication, celebrations, and engagement activities.
  • Assist in HR initiatives like Diwali celebrations, rewards & recognition, and CSR events.
  • Gather feedback and contribute ideas to strengthen employee satisfaction and culture.

    • Learning & Development

  • Help identify training needs and coordinate learning sessions.
  • Track participation and maintain learning records.

    • Skills & Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and basic HR software.
  • Understanding of HR processes, recruitment tools (, Naukri, etc.), and compliance basics.
  • Positive attitude, confidentiality, and a people-first mindset.
