Linux Systems Administrator Jobs in India

GotPrint, a rapidly-expanding online printing company with multiple facilities across the United States, is searching for a Linux System Administrator to be responsible for effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The qualified candidate will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The qualified candidate will ensure that networking infrastructure; system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and support structure.

Tasks and Responsibilities :

Assist with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of organizational projects

Activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions

Smoothing the transition of projects from development to production by performing operational activities within the project life-cycle

Knowledge and Skill Requirements :

4 years of administrating Linux environments (Debian, RedHat, CentOS or Ubuntu)

3 years of troubleshooting hardware and software bugs (know how to debug installation issues, missing drivers, hacking kernels, bootloaders, etc.)

Robust TCP / IP networking knowledge including switching / routing (HP Procurve, Cisco or Sonicwall)

Understanding of networking security concepts. (Being able to setup sandboxed / jail environments)

Experience working in a culturally diverse environment

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strategic and forward thinking

Ability to be proactive and work independently with limited direction

Preferred experience :

Experience with 24 / 7 "four nines" SLA support and monitoring

Experience with setting up Linux clusters (Linux HA, Heartbeat, DRBD, etc.)

Experience with Zimbra

Experience with Storage Appliances, preferably NetApp

Experience with SAN Fibre Channel switching

Experience with MySQL

Experience with Python / Bash / Perl scripting

Experience with LVM

Experience with configuration managements tools such as CFEngine, Puppet, etc.

Experience with Splunk

Experience with Puppet
