A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

ØOversees the merged responsibility of both internal and external communications planning and execution in a single role or group.

ØDirectly manages communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's reputation to both internal and external audiences.

ØAdvances the company narrative to media and other external audiences as defined, which may involve the strategic conceptualization and execution of creative (PR) campaigns.

ØHandles the creation and implementation of multiple forms of internal strategic communication activities, programs and content guided by the Medtronic Mission and overall business strategy.

ØOversees and executes the writing, editing and approval of event scripts, speeches, key documents and reports, promotional materials, press releases, interviews, FAQs and other external and internal communications vehicles as defined.

ØSupports senior leadership in communicating to external and internal audiences.

ØWorks closely with business units on strategic awareness campaigns

ØManages digital channels and enhances reach of the brand through various strategies

Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level specialists; may manage projects / processes.

Analysis provided is in-depth in nature and often provides recommendations on process improvements.

Ø Communication and Influence :  Communicates with senior internal and external customers and vendors.

Exchange information of facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective, and influence decision-making.

Ø Leadership and Talent Management :  May provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects, requiring delegation of work and review of others' work product.

Must Have : Minimum Requirements

ØRequires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

ØMay have practical knowledge of project management and minimum of 6 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant Experience

Ø Requires a Master Degree from Communication Background
