Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Senior Business Development Manager / State Manager to spearhead our Government & Trade Business initiatives across West Bengal and adjoining states. The role demands an individual with strong government exposure, exceptional relationship management capabilities, and a proven track record in driving business growth through public sector engagements.
The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing government and institutional trade opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and contributing directly to revenue and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities :
- Drive end-to-end business development initiatives within the Government and Trade Business segment across the assigned state(s).
- Identify new opportunities through tenders, public procurement platforms, and direct institutional engagements.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase market penetration in District Hospitals and other government healthcare facilities (exposure in West Bengal hospitals is mandatory).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, decision-makers, and key stakeholders.
- Lead proposal development, tender submissions, and negotiation processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Legal) to ensure smooth project execution and compliance.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and policy changes impacting the government business domain.
- Prepare and present business performance reports, forecasts, and growth strategies to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to all government regulations, tender norms, and internal compliance requirements.
- Manage a small team (if applicable) to drive execution and achieve business objectives within the state.
Required Qualifications & Experience :
Minimum Experience : 8 to 15 years in Government or Institutional Business Development, preferably within healthcare, infrastructure, or trade sectors.Mandatory Exposure : Direct working experience with District Hospitals in West Bengal.Preferred Exposure : Ability to handle multi-state coverage (neighboring states).Strong expertise in B2G (Business-to-Government) sales, tender management, and government liaisoning.Demonstrated success in achieving business targets and managing complex sales cycles.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.In-depth knowledge of government procurement policies, e-tendering systems, and trade regulations.Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools for business tracking and reporting.Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).(ref : iimjobs.com)
