Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Composites Engineer to join our fabrication and R&D team. The role involves working on the design, manufacturing, and testing of composite materials and structures, with a focus on aerospace and UAV applications. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, hands-on fabrication experience, and craftsmanship in producing high-quality composite parts. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, lightweight, and high-performance products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and fabricate composite components with emphasis on aerospace and unmanned systems.
- Apply knowledge of fibres, resins, fillers, and reinforcement materials in selecting the right combinations for projects.
- Execute manufacturing methods such as hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, resin infusion, and other advanced techniques.
- Support machining of composites with proper tool selection and handling.
- Maintain workshop safety standards and ensure correct handling of resins, adhesives, and chemicals.
- Contribute to the structural design and fabrication of UAVs and unmanned aircraft systems.
- Design test fixtures, perform testing and evaluation with an understanding of strength of materials principles.
- Document fabrication processes, inspections, and results for quality assurance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and systems engineers, to achieve project goals.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, or related engineering discipline.Experience : Minimum of 1 year in composites fabrication, testing, and material selection.Technical Competencies :Basic understanding of composite materials and their applications.Practical, hands-on approach to fabrication and testing.Familiarity with composite manufacturing methods including hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, and advanced processes.Knowledge of different fibres, resins, fillers, and their properties.Understanding of composite machining and tool usage.General materials science knowledge.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Soft Skills :Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Attention to detail, creativity, and a strong sense of design aesthetics.Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Qualifications
