Role Overview
The Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) – India will serve as the primary HR advisor to our Head of India Manufacturing and site leadership teams. This role will lead a team across our manufacturing sites, shaping people strategies that enable a safe, high-performing, and inclusive workplace. The ideal candidate combines strategic insight with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, labor relations, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with operations leadership to develop and deliver HR strategies aligned with business goals.
Drive workforce planning, organizational design, and talent initiatives to support production growth and operational scalability.
Act as a trusted advisor, coaching leaders on performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Assist with succession planning and capability development for the India manufacturing workforce.
Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Champion employee engagement and retention strategies that reflect company s mission and values.
Provide expert guidance on employee relations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary matters to ensure fair and consistent practices.
Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Leverage experience to proactively address workforce engagement and compliance.
Oversee core HR processes including payroll coordination, performance management, training compliance, and HRIS integrity for all India employees.
Partner with EHS and site management on initiatives supporting workplace safety and employee well-being.
Create data-driven dashboards and reporting for leadership on key HR metrics.
Build a culture of collaboration, operational efficiency and accountability.
Education and Qualification Required :
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing HRBP or plant HR leadership role.
Experience supporting multi-site operations across India.
Solid knowledge of Indian labor laws, compliance frameworks, and industrial relations best practices.
Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and driving complex HR initiatives.
Strong communication, cultural adaptability, and organizational skills.
Experience in a clean energy, engineering, or advanced manufacturing environment is desired
Prior experience in start-up or rapid-growth settings is a plus.
HR certification (SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) is preferred.
