(Laravel / PHP) Web developer with React Native Experience

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled

Backend Engineer

with strong expertise in

Laravel / PHP

who can manage, maintain, and migrate our existing PHP / Laravel applications into a

React Native environment . The ideal candidate will have a solid background in backend development, database management, and API design, with hands-on experience enabling smooth integration with modern front-end frameworks.

You will play a key role in optimizing performance, ensuring scalability, and supporting our transition from legacy systems to modern, mobile-first applications.

Responsibilities

Maintain, optimize, and extend existing

PHP / Laravel backend applications .

Design and implement

RESTful APIs

to support React Native applications.

Migrate legacy PHP / Laravel code into modular, scalable structures suitable for cross-platform integration.

Collaborate with front-end and mobile developers to ensure seamless integration and performance.

Work with MySQL / PostgreSQL databases, ensuring security, efficiency, and scalability.

Implement best practices for

authentication, authorization, caching, and API performance optimization .

Debug and resolve backend issues, ensuring application stability and smooth deployments.

Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code while following industry standards.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience

in backend development with

PHP & Laravel .

Strong knowledge of

object-oriented PHP, MVC architecture, and Laravel ecosystem

(Eloquent ORM, Blade, Queues, etc.).

Hands-on experience building and consuming

REST APIs .

Familiarity with

React Native (or React.js)

and ability to support integration / migration projects.

Solid understanding of

databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL) , query optimization, and schema design.

Experience with

Git, CI / CD, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) .

Excellent verbal and written

English communication skills

(must be able to work with international clients).

Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and Collaborate with remote teams.

Must be Organized and work in a structured method.

Nice to Have

Experience with

migration from monolithic to microservices architecture .

Exposure to

Node.js

or other modern backend frameworks.

Knowledge of

mobile performance optimization

for cross-platform apps.
