jewelry quality control (QC) job involves inspecting jewelry to ensure it meets all quality, design, and safety standards. Responsibilities include checking for defects like rough edges, improper plating, or loose stones, using tools like microscopes to examine craftsmanship, and working with production teams to correct issues and implement improvements. A strong knowledge of jewelry materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards is essential.

Key responsibilities

Inspection and testing :

Inspect jewelry pieces for defects in materials, craftsmanship, and design.

Check for issues such as rough edges, poor polish, uneven plating, or loose stones.

Test the durability and functionality of clasps and other components.

Use tools like microscopes, calipers, and gauges for detailed inspection.

Quality assurance :

Ensure all products meet company and industry quality standards before dispatch.

Collaborate with production, design, and CAD teams to troubleshoot and prevent recurring quality issues.

Work with suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.

Documentation and reporting :

Maintain accurate records of quality control checks, findings, and non-conformances.

Analyze data to identify trends and root causes of quality problems.

Report findings and suggest improvements for the production process.

Process improvement and training :

Recommend and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.

Provide feedback and training to production staff on quality control procedures.

Contribute to the development of new quality standards and procedures.

Required skills and qualifications

Experience : 3-5 years of quality control experience, preferably in the jewelry industry.

Knowledge : Strong understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, materials (metals, diamonds, precious stones), and industry standards.

Technical skills : Ability to use inspection tools (microscopes, calipers) and quality management software.

Soft skills : Detail-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
