The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced VoIP Softswitch & NOC Technician to join our technical operations team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our telecommunications infrastructure, managing our Class 4 softswitch platform, establishing carrier interconnections, and ensuring optimal network performance. What You'll Do
Configure and manage Class 4 softswitch routing, including LCR optimization and traffic managementAdminister billing systems and rating configurations for accurate call processing and invoicingSet up and configure interconnections with customers, carriers, and vendor partnersAnalyze packet captures (PCAPs) using Wireshark to diagnose call quality issues, routing problems, and protocol errorsMonitor system performance, capacity, and call quality metrics through NOC toolsCreate, manage, and resolve trouble tickets in collaboration with customers and vendorsTest and validate new routes and trunks to ensure proper call flow and audio qualityInvestigate and resolve issues related to SIP signaling, media path, codec negotiation, and network connectivityMaintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and interconnection specificationsRespond to alerts and alarms to minimize service disruptions and maintain SLA complianceParticipate in on-call rotation to provide 24 / 7 support coverageWhat We're Looking For
Required :
2+ years hands-on experience with Class 4 softswitch platformsExperience with PeerEdge by 46 Labs strongly preferred (or similar platforms such as SipNav, DeNova Labs, Veriswitch, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, or OpenSIPS)Proven ability to configure routing, billing, and rating systemsStrong understanding of VoIP protocols including SIP, RTP, RTCP, and SDPProficiency with packet capture analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump)Solid grasp of TCP / IP, UDP, networking fundamentals, and QoS conceptsExperience diagnosing codec issues, latency, jitter, and packet lossFamiliarity with firewalls, NAT traversal, and session border controllers (SBCs)Experience with trouble ticket systems and NOC operational proceduresStrong documentation skills and meticulous attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectivelyPreferred :
Experience with CDR analysis and fraud detection / preventionKnowledge of SS7, ISUP, or TDM-to-IP gateway configurationsScripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar) for task automationIndustry certifications (Cisco, Juniper, or VoIP-specific certifications)Familiarity with wholesale carrier ecosystems and peering arrangementsExperience in a telecommunications or carrier environmentWork Schedule & Location
