1. Demonstrate passion for, and knowledge of news- follow top stories of the day, story developments, etc. Structure the bulletins to unfold latest developments in an engaging manner.
2. Understand newsroom strategy and target audience associated with different time bands (morning, afternoon, evening). Use this knowledge to design the rundown for higher level of audience engagement.
3. Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members / key stakeholders in the news making process- producers, anchors, assignment desk, shift supervisor, etc.
4. Concentrate on several areas of work at one time, prioritizing work load, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
5. Manage personal effectiveness by managing emotions in the face of pressure, setbacks or when dealing with provocative situations. Demonstrates an approach to work that is characterized by commitment, motivation and energy.
6. Adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change.
