About the Role :

Hiring a Senior Tax Manager is essential when an organization reaches a level of complexity, scale, or risk exposure that demands strategic tax leadership. Here are the key reasons why we should consider hiring a Senior Tax Manager :

  • Growing revenue, M&A activity increases the complexity of direct and indirect tax matters. Senior-level internal oversight is needed to ensure accurate compliance, risk assessment, and efficient tax structuring.
  • A seasoned tax leader can proactively manage the company's tax position, reduce the effective tax rate, evaluate tax-saving opportunities / tax planning, and provide direction for long-term tax optimization aligned with business strategy.
  • The role will support the implementation of tax process automation, SOPs, and tax-risk frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Handle Tax Assessments & Litigation Management and lead and close audits, manage disputes, and represent the company before authorities.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management : Build a skilled tax team, manage advisors, and maintain strong engagement with auditors and tax officers.

Essential Experience required for the role : (3-4)

  • Total Experience : 7-12 years, including positions as Tax Head or N-1.
  • Direct Taxation : Minimum 5 years of experience in Income Tax, Corporate Tax, and Transfer Pricing. Practical knowledge of handling taxation wrt to corporate restructuring.
  • Indirect Taxation : Hands-on experience with GST compliance, including return filings (GSTR-1, 3B, 9, etc.), input credit reconciliations, and e-invoicing.
  • Team and Stakeholder Management : Minimum 3-5 years' experience
  • Leading or mentoring junior tax staff or consultants.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Sales, Operations).
  • Comfort in advising CXOs on tax risks and implications.
