The
Director of R2R GPO
is responsible for the strategic ownership, standardization, and continuous improvement of the global R2R processes across the organization. This role will lead cross-functional efforts to optimize process efficiency, drive compliance, and deliver best-in-class service, aligning with organizational objectives. The GPO will also ensure strong partnerships with regional leads, business units, and external service providers to enhance process performance and maintain governance.
Key Operational Aspects
Key operational aspects of the R2R GPO Director role include overseeing global policy adherence, leveraging performance analytics, mitigating risks, and enhancing customer experience both internal and external, all while managing a high volume of global transactions. The Director will lead a cross-functional team to uphold robust global controls, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement in process performance.
This role entails deploying advanced technologies to streamline processes, and contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at cost efficiency and value creation. The Director will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s leadership in process management and supplier engagement.
By providing strategic direction and fostering operational excellence, the R2R GPO Director will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s global financial operations and driving sustainable success.
Key Responsibilities and Major Duties
Strategic Ownership &Governance :
Develop and execute the global R2R strategy to align with organizational goals and priorities.
Define and enforce global R2R policies, procedures, and standards while ensuring adherence to local regulations and requirements.
Act as the global escalation point for R2R-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder satisfactions.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement :
Drive process standardization and harmonization across regions, leveraging technology and best practices.
Identify opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce costs, and improve cycle times within R2R processes.
Lead digital transformation initiatives, such as automation, AI, and analytics tools, to enhance process capabilities.
Performance Management :
Conduct regular reviews of process performance with Stakeholders, identifying and addressing gaps or opportunities for improvement.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with Finance, IT, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of R2R process into end–to– end operations.
Build strong relationships with external service providers.
Risk Management & Compliance :
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements related to R2R processes.
Develop and maintain a strong internal control framework to mitigate risks within the R2R function.
Leadership & Team Development :
Mentor and guide regional R2R leads and teams. Fostering a culture of accountability. Collaboration, and continuous learning.
Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of process changes across the organization.
Successful candidates will possess excellent leadership skills and ability to gain a clear understanding of the business dynamics in each market, collaborate in a cross functional structure, and to inspire and motivate team members to deliver exceptional results.
A minimum of 18 years of experience is required, with 15+ years in financial management leadership roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

List of minimum requirements
Degree / Certification / Licensure
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
CA / CPA equivalent is required.
Experience – Responsibility and minimum number of years
A minimum of 18 years of experience, with a minimum of 15 years in financial management leadership roles
Finance experience within the pharmaceutical industry preferred

Demonstrated experience in SAP, Hana 4 and R2R processes architecture; experience in process improvements and project management is a plus.
