Software Test Engineer

Job descriptionConduct manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications. Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools. Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. Collaborate closely with developers and project managers to understand requirements and ensure product quality. Prepare detailed test cases, test plans, and test reports. Verify bug fixes and ensure proper functionality before release. Ensure software meets client expectations, usability standards, and security benchmarks. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in software testing (manual or automation). Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle. Experience with testing tools such as JIRA, Postman, Selenium, or similar . Knowledge of API testing and basic SQL queries for backend verification. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Good communication and documentation skills. Bug Tracking & Test Management : JIRA, Bugzilla, TestLink, or similar tools. Automation Tools : Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Cypress, or Playwright. API Testing : Postman, Swagger, or Rest Assured. Performance Testing : JMeter or LoadRunner. Database Testing : SQL and data validation. Mobile App Testing Tools : Appium or Android Studio. Familiarity with version control systems like Git / GitHub is an added advantage. Experience testing POS systems, web portals, and mobile applications (Android / iOS) . Knowledge of automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python or Java . Understanding of security, performance, and compatibility testing principles.
