Assistant Professor of English

Job descriptionEngage in original research in a specific area of expertise. Publish academic articles, books, or other scholarly works. Present research findings at academic conferences. Provide academic and career guidance to students. Serve as a research advisor and mentor for undergraduate and graduate students. Assist with student recruitment and orientation. Participate in departmental and university committees. Attend faculty meetings and contribute to discussions and decision-making. Assist with administrative tasks, such as curriculum review or program development. Stay current with developments in the field of study. Explore new strategies to enhance teaching and curriculum delivery. A Ph.D. +MA+ BA in English is typically required. A strong research record with publications and conference presentations is often necessary. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.
Duties and responsibilities
Teaching and curriculum development :
- Deliver lectures and tutorials for courses in areas like literature, composition, and creative writing.
- Develop and update course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and other work.
