Job Title : Liferay Front-End Developer
Role Overview :
You will design, build and maintain user-facing components and interfaces for enterprise portals and web applications powered by Liferay DXP transforming designs and business requirements into pixel-perfect, performant, and maintainable UI.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain front-end code (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript / TypeScript, modern UI frameworks) integrated into Liferay DXP portals.
- Build responsive web interfaces, themes, layouts or portlets compatible with Liferays theming and templating mechanisms.
- Work with REST / Headless APIs or backend services to integrate frontend components into the portal workflow.
- Ensure UI / UX consistency, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design across devices.
- Collaborate with
- UX / UI designers, backend developers, and project / product managers.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain code hygiene and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot UI issues, ensure accessibility, and implement best practices for frontend development.
Required Qualifications / Skills :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science / IT or relevant field.Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (or TypeScript), and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, or Vue).Experience (or willingness to learn) working with Liferay DXP / Liferay portal environment.Familiarity with portal themes, templating, UI integration with CMS / portal platforms.Familiarity with build tools / version control (e.g. Git, Webpack, npm / yarn).Good understanding of responsive design, cross-browser behavior, UI / UX principles, and performance optimization.Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in agile teams.Preferred / Nice-to-Have :
Prior experience with Liferay (custom themes, portlets, fragments, client-side extensions).Experience with REST APIs / headless CMS integrations.Knowledge of backend technologies (Java / J2EE / portal backend) helpful when working end-to-end on portal features.Familiarity with accessibility standards, UI testing, CI / CD pipelines.(ref : hirist.tech)
