Job description

A Data Modeler designs, implements, and maintains robust data architectures and modeling solutions (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) to support enterprise information management, BI, analytics, machine learning, and other business use cases. They drive data strategies, build models (conceptual, logical, physical), ensure performance optimization, and govern modeling standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various platforms (RDBMS, ODS, data marts, data lakes).
  • Implement new data strategies and designs for all data types and platforms.
  • Work with business and technical teams to build data flows and models.
  • Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and tools.
  • Identify architecture, infrastructure, interfaces, and data source integrations.
  • Perform hands-on design, configuration, performance tuning, and POCs.
  • Address project requirements independently, raising risks and challenges proactively.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or similar.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in relational, dimensional, and / or NoSQL data modeling.
  • Proven experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms .
  • Solid understanding of metadata management and tools like Erwin , ER Studio , or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with ETL, data ingestion protocols , and query performance optimization .
  • Good exposure to multi-datacenter environments.
  • Team management, communication, and presentation skills.
