POSITION : General Manager – Marketing ( from manufacturing or buying office )

SALARY : Net USD 6,000 - 8,000 + Benefits
NOTE : SHOULD BE CURRENTLY HANDLING USD 75 Mn - USD 100 Mn business with extensive overseas travel to meet clients.
OVERVIEW :
Our client, a leading apparel manufacturer seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager – Marketing to spearhead marketing and business development for its apparel portfolio. The role is centered on garment manufacturing business growth , with a focus on securing new buyers, managing key brand relationships, and expanding categories such as jackets, outerwear, lifestyle, and performance apparel . Direct exposure to working with global apparel brands (e.g., Patagonia, Uniqlo, Carhartt, Columbia, North Face, or similar) will be a strong advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement marketing and business development strategies specific to apparel manufacturing .
- Identify and secure new global buyers / brands while expanding business with existing clients.
- Lead product category growth, especially in jackets, outerwear, and lifestyle / performance wear .
- Work closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to align customer needs with manufacturing capabilities.
- Drive factory presentations, buyer visits, and brand development initiatives .
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with international brands, retailers, and sourcing offices .
- Monitor global fashion and sourcing trends to position the company competitively in the garment export market .
- Negotiate business contracts, costing, and terms directly with buyers and sourcing agents.
- Lead and mentor the marketing / BD team to deliver sales targets and customer acquisition goals.
PRE-REQUISITES
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline (MBA preferred).12–15 years’ experience in apparel marketing / business development with proven exposure to garment manufacturing .Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role within apparel industry marketing / BD .Strong buyer network and customer-handling experience with global apparel brands and retailers .Solid product knowledge in jackets, outerwear, and lifestyle / performance apparel categories.
