Key Responsibilities
- Translate functional requirements into additive manufacturing-optimized designs (DfAM) .
- Apply AM-specific design principles : topology optimization, lattice structures, and weight reduction.
- Establish design, printing, component qualification, and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Design, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality) to integrate AM into the product lifecycle.
- Validate designs through simulation (FEA, thermal, fluid flow) and rapid prototyping.
- Define build orientation, support strategies, and post-processing needs with manufacturing engineers.
- Document design guidelines and establish best practices for AM integration.
