Key Responsibilities :
Design Leadership & Execution :
- Lead a team of design engineers in developing new products or improving existing designs.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, models, and BOMs to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior team members.
- Drive product design from concept through to production, including prototyping and validation.
Project & Cross-functional Coordination :
Coordinate design activities with other departments including Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Marketing.Monitor design timelines and ensure deliverables meet project milestones.Interface with clients or internal stakeholders to understand requirements and implement feedback.Engineering Standards & Innovation :
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.Promote use of simulation tools, FEA, and DFM / DFA techniques to enhance design quality.Contribute to design process improvements and cost optimization initiatives.Documentation & Reporting :
Maintain detailed technical documentation, revision history, and design approvals.Prepare reports on design status, risk analysis, and design validation outcomes.Participate in design reviews, audits, and compliance meetings.Required Skills & Qualifications :
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (M.E. / M.Tech is a plus).5–8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or capital equipment industries.Proficient in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.) and design documentation.Strong knowledge of materials, GD&T, tolerancing, and mechanical systems.Familiar with FEA, simulation tools (ANSYS, HyperMesh, etc.), and product validation processes.Experience with PLM systems and ERP software.Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.Skills Required
