Job Summary :
The System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and system software. The role ensures system reliability, security, and optimal performance while providing technical support to users and teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and applications.
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
- Perform regular system backups, updates, and disaster recovery operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, hardware, and network issues promptly.
- Administer and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Ensure security through access controls, firewalls, antivirus, and data protection measures.
- Manage patch updates, system upgrades, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to assist users with technical issues and system access.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection regulations.
Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of Windows / Linux servers and Active Directory administration.Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).Familiarity with network administration (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is an advantage.Proficiency with backup and recovery tools and system monitoring software .Strong understanding of IT security practices and access management .Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldRelevant certifications preferred :Microsoft Certified : System Administrator / Azure AdministratorRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)CompTIA Server+ / Network+VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
