Role Overview

We're looking for a Founder Chef / Culinary Co-Founder (Dessert Focus) to lead culinary innovation for our new dessert-first brand under the edobbon umbrella.

This is a founding-level role for a creative, experimental, and passionate dessert chef who can transform Indian and global influences into signature recipes, scalable products, and memorable experiences.

You'll work directly with the founding team to conceptualize, test, and launch a dessert range that merges creativity, health, and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and test modern pastry and dessert menus for cafes, packaged products, and brand experiences.

Lead recipe R&D, menu engineering, and plating design ensuring innovation, consistency, and scalability.

Source and standardize high-quality, natural ingredients that align with the brand's health-forward approach.

Oversee kitchen setup, team hiring, SOPs, hygiene, and quality control for all culinary operations.

Collaborate with marketing, design, and product teams to bring visual, sensory, and narrative alignment to the culinary identity.

Build the foundation for a future-ready dessert lab, driving continuous experimentation and evolution.

Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in pastry, desserts, or cafe product development.

Proven ability to design menus, create recipes, and lead culinary innovation.

Strong understanding of Indian ingredients, fusion desserts, and natural flavor pairings.

Knowledge of food safety, FSSAI guidelines, and inventory management.

Prior experience in R&D, brand collaboration, or boutique dessert kitchens preferred.

A culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience in professional kitchens.

Excellent leadership, creativity, and time management skills.

Must be based in, or open to relocating to, Mumbai.
