The As a Category Manager (Networking) -Procurement is a hands-on role and perfect for an initiative-taker who will thrive in a dynamic and fast-growing environment. This individual possesses broad experience in Category Management, Procurement, etc. Should be comfortable and proficient with working in the details but also sees the big picture and is a systematic thinker. Additionally, the ideal candidate consistently delivers with high quality, accuracy, completeness & timeliness and will have strong capabilities in financial analysis and modeling to understand and influence business performance.
Your role in our mission
- Work closely with IT, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to ensure that network requirements are met and aligned with organizational needs
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for networking products and services, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Continuously monitor the networking market, assess new trends, and recommend innovative solutions to improve the company's network infrastructure and cost-efficiency
- Solicit suppliers for materials / products / services through formal Requests for Services (FRS) and / or Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as well as informal channels
- Conduct highly complex negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best quantity and cost to ensure end-users needs are met
- Maintain communication with suppliers at the senior management level during the course of complex procurement activities to ensure timely delivery in compliance with the requirements
- Identify and mitigate risks related to network procurement, such as vendor performance issues, supply chain disruptions, and compliance concerns
- Expected to deliver substantial cost savings on a consistent basis
- Be a trusted, helpful, and engaging business partner to the organization to enable transparency, growth, profitability, and sound business decisions
- Uphold a customer service approach to internal customers and stakeholders. Actively engage with senior executive leaders and support them with information, insights, and advice
- Identify and execute strategic and actionable projects within Gainwell to achieve Supplier Optimization delivering long-term financial and quality performance
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceMaster's degree in a related field preferred12 to 18 years of professional experience in a procurement or supply chain environmentProven track record of managing enterprise and large sourcing dealsStrong decision-making, critical thinking & problem-solving skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills combined with the ability to maintain effective relationships internally and externally with a strong customer service orientationStrong personal computer and business solutions software skillsWhat you should expect in this role
