V Mart - Software Development Engineer II - Java / Ruby on Rails

Key Responsibilities :

• Ability to design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, estimate and execute releases with a good degree of predictability.
• Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Deep dive and debug production issues across services and levels of the stack when needed.
• Brainstorm on business requirements with product / business teams.
• Proactively inform the team when blocked which would otherwise lead to delayed capabilities :
• 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong DS / Algo concepts with a knack of looking out for edge cases.
• Strong technical thinking and demonstrated ability to lead software design and coding in at least one of the programming languages from Java / Ruby.
• Open to switching languages as per need of the project.
• Working knowledge of databases like MySQL, Mongo, Solr, Redis, Aerospike, and Kafka is preferred.
• Experience building software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Practiced ability to apply API design principles.
• Drive to solve consumer problems.
• Bachelors / Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
