Job DescriptionAs a Technical Specialist, the incumbent will focus on IP-based fixed access networks and work with Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 protocols. The incumbent will develop manual and automated tests, verify feature functionality, maintain features deployed in customer networks, and ensure high-quality solutions through collaboration with R&D and Product Management teams.HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN- You will gain in-depth proficiency in IP-based fixed access networks and Layer 1, 2 and 3 protocols.- You will develop manual and automated tests to validate feature functionality and customer deployments.- Collaborate with R&D and Product Management teams to enhance products and ensure high-quality solutions.- Learn to integrate real-world customer feedback into the product development process for continuous improvement.- Deepen your understanding of DSL and MoCA technologies and apply that knowledge to real-world scenarios.- Strengthen problem-solving and analytical skills in troubleshooting customer network issues.- Enhance skills in DevOps principles, tools, and techniques for more efficient product delivery and automation.- Expand your knowledge in traffic testing tools (e.G., Spirent, Ixia) and protocols like DHCP, PPP, and QoS to improve test case design.KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEYou have : - Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering stream with 5+ years of experience.- Conceptual knowledge of networks, particularly IP-based fixed access networks and Layer 1, 2, and 3 protocols, such as DHCP, PPP, IGMP, LACP, 802.1x, and QoS, with the ability to set up test topologies for protocol verification.- Hands-on experience with traffic testing tools such as Spirent, Ixia, or Router Tester for end-to-end testing.- Experience with GPON, DSL, and MoCA technologies and an understanding of their testing requirements.- Programming experience in automation scripting languages like Python, Tcl, or Perl.It would be nice if you also had : - Understanding of SDLC / PDLC, bug lifecycle, and software testing practices.- Knowledge of Layer 2 switching architecture and protocols like Ethernet, STP, RSTP, VLAN, and ARP.- Knowledge of DevOps principles, tools, and techniques, with hands-on experience with automation and CI / CD.- Familiarity with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, and working knowledge of Elasticsearch and Kibana.
