Role Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Requirement Manager and Project Architect; ensure all technical requirements allocated to System Application Design are delivered.
- Adhere to signalling design principles, project schedules, Project Engineering Plan, Change Management Plan, and Configuration Management Plan.
- Conduct Kick-Off Meetings with the design team to define scope, timelines, and delivery milestones.
- Analyse and confirm required inputs with the Project Engineering Manager and Sub-System Leaders for system architecture description and system specifications.
- Ensure system requirement traceability using DOORS and maintain alignment across system specifications.
- Deliver project-level system documents such as Requirement Specifications, Architecture documents, Operational Specifications, and External Interface Specifications.
- Deliver project application documents including Scheme Plans, Signalling Rules, System Naming Rules, Network Addressing Plans, System Parameter Computations, System Databases, and Review Reports.
- Analyse and resolve comments from Testing & Commissioning, Verification & Validation teams, and customer reviews.
- Prepare project training materials such as System Functions & Operations, Architecture Overview, Scheme Plans, and Application
Design Details :
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation (RoE Return on Experience, Method Statements, etc.).Collaborate with Software and V&V teams to identify / resolve defects and support module development when needed.Promote and practice the Alstom Code of Ethics, adhering to the highest standards of professional conduct.Required Skill Set : Technical Skills :
Strong knowledge of system architecture design, application flows, and embedded system concepts.Experience with embedded C / C++, microcontrollers, SoCs, or real-time operating systems (RTOS).Proficiency in hardwaresoftware integration and debugging.Strong understanding of communication protocols : UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, Modbus, etc.Experience with design modelling tools such as UML, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB / Simulink.Knowledge of PCB design fundamentals, electronic components, and hardware interfaces (nice to have).Familiarity with system testing, validation methodologies, and automation tools.Software & Tools :
UML tools, Version Control (Git), Jira / ConfluenceSimulation Tools (MATLAB / Simulink preferred)Requirement Management Tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)Soft Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to work cross-functionally and manage multiple design streams efficientlyGood to Have :
