Key Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Material Management
Plan and control inventories of raw materials and packaging materials as per production requirements.
Coordinate with Purchase and Quality Control teams to ensure timely availability and release of materials.
Ensure receipt, storage, and dispensing of materials are conducted as per SOPs, MSDS, and safety requirements.
Oversee return, rejection, and destruction of non-conforming materials in compliance with procedures.
Compliance & Documentation
Prepare, review, implement, and update departmental SOPs.
Train and develop warehouse team members on SOPs and cGMP compliance.
Ensure integrity and accuracy of cGMP and statutory records.
Lead and coordinate change controls, deviations, and CAPA, ensuring timely closure.
Represent the department during regulatory / customer audits and drive compliance to observations.
Operations & Equipment Management
Ensure weighing balances, standard weights, and warehouse instruments are verified and calibrated as per SOP.
Maintain environmental conditions of storage and dispensing areas as per cGMP requirements.
Coordinate With Engineering For Preventive Maintenance And Equipment Qualifications.
Support execution of qualification studies, including temperature / humidity mapping.
Distribution & Logistics
Monitor timely dispatch of finished goods with accurate documentation.
Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of engineering and miscellaneous materials.
Ensure housekeeping, safety, and good storage practices across warehouse areas.
MIS & Reporting
Prepare and submit MIS reports and departmental dashboards as required.
Track and report material inventory, consumption, and distribution trends.
Essential Functions
Warehouse QMS-related activities.
Dispensing of materials as per production plan.
Timely dispatch and distribution of materials.
Additional Responsibilities
Raise indents for materials / services and prepare Capex proposals when required.
Manage departmental inventory effectively.
Participate in technical workshops / seminars to explore new technologies and best practices in warehouse management.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, and warehouse compliance systems.
Expertise in documentation, record integrity, and data review.
Ability to interpret data and conduct statistical analysis.
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Proven track record of managing audits and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
B.Sc. / B. Pharma – Preferred
B.Com or equivalent – Acceptable
Experience
15–20 years of experience in warehouse & distribution, preferably in a pharmaceutical or other regulated industry.
