General Description Of Role :
We are seeking a highly experienced and inspiring Software Engineering Development Manager to lead and grow our dynamic engineering team.
This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our development processes, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and driving the successful delivery of PathWise, the high-performance computing, GPU enabled platform from Aon Life Solutions.
You'll play a critical part in building a high-performing team, optimizing our engineering practices, and ensuring our technological solutions meet and exceed evolving business demands.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning for team members.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments.
- Oversee talent acquisition, including defining roles, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions to scale the team.
Experience :
Skills / competencies required :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.15+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in [specific technologies relevant to your stack, e.g NET, Java, Python, C++, cloud platforms like Azure / AWS / GCP].8+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, leading software development teams.Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.Technical Skills :
Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.Proficiency with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tools (e., Jira, Azure DevOps).Experience with DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, and cloud deployment strategies (Azure, AWS, GCP strongly preferred).Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), database technologies.Understanding of GPU architectures, parallel programming models, and memory management.Proficiency in C / C++ and experience with relevant development tools and libraries.Experience in developing .NET applications using C# a plus.Experience with ASP.NET, MVC, Web API and other .NET frameworks a plus.Python development experience a plus.Knowledge of actuarial and / or financial products a plus.Leadership & Soft Skills :
