Position : Garment / Product Development Technician

Location : Mumbai

Experience : 8–16 Years

Working Days : 5 Days a Week

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Garment / Product Development Technician to join one of India’s leading apparel brands. The role involves leading a team of 6–7 technicians, driving the entire product development process - from concept and sampling to the final product. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a keen eye for fit and quality, and the ability to translate design intent into commercially viable products.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and mentor a team of technicians to ensure accurate execution of product development.
• Oversee pattern making, grading, sample development, fittings, and construction techniques for multiple categories.
• Prepare, review, and maintain spec sheets, measurement charts, BOMs, and tech packs with precision.
• Collaborate closely with designers, sourcing, and the masterji / sample room to bring concepts to life.
• Conduct fit trials , provide actionable feedback, and ensure fit consistency across sizes.
• Evaluate fabric behavior, shrinkage, wash effects, and garment finishing during sampling.
• Troubleshoot technical or construction-related issues to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure all technical specifications and quality standards are met before production.
• Support process improvements, innovation in product development, and adherence to timelines.
