We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Centre Director  to join our team at Hurstbridge Children's Centre . Our lovely, welcoming centre is housed within Hurstbridge’s state-of-the-art community centre. We deliver high quality and inclusive early education and care for children aged three months to five years. Our beautiful, green hub is connected to a maternal health care nurse, community library and local oval, all perfect for community connection.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity where you will inspire and drive the educational program and practice through mentoring and providing professional development to educators.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week (including a monthly RDO!). This is a fixed-term opportunity ending in July 2025.You will work part-time on the floor supporting and mentoring educators, and part-time in the office completing admin duties.

  • You have exceptional knowledge of the child safe standards, early childhood regulations and frameworks.
  • You hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, a WWCC, mandatory reporting certificate, police check and a first aid certificate.

About the role

  • You'll create a supportive environment where children are safeguarded to learn and grow.
  • You’ll develop a high-quality educational program for the 3 / 4-year-old program in consultation with children, families and educators to achieve agreed outcomes for children.
  • You’ll work collaboratively with Educators to implement an educational program driven by children's interests, underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework, that aims to achieve their holistic development and facilitate a smooth transition to school.
  • You’ll document the delivery of the educational program, children's interests and assessments of their learning and development needs.
  • You’ll critically reflect and inspire staff to critically reflect on their pedagogical practice, share ideas and identify innovative ways of achieving positive outcomes for children.
  • Contribute to a child safe environment ensuring standards are met on a daily basis.
